The Corporate Partnerships Officer is responsible to develop and to implement partnerships with the private sector in support of WWF’s conservation work in Bulgaria; encourage companies from selected sectors to transform their business according to WWF’s strategies and criteria.
The job position will directly report to Fundraising Manager WWF BG and it will be based in Sofia.
Your duties will include:
The work will be concentrated on creating and maintaining strategic partnerships with WWF supporters from the private sector to sustain the conservation work of WWF in Bulgaria. The main lines of the work will be:
• Develop and implement a strategy and annual work plans for the engagement of the private sector in support of WWF Danube Carpathian Programme in Bulgaria;
• Together with the Fundraising manager and the Conservation team develop project proposals/activities within WWF’s conservation work in Bulgaria; and then send them out to potential corporate partners;
• Reach out to potential new partners on a continuous basis and send proposals for partnership and support;
• Understand partners’ needs and develop plans to address them and develop mutual benefits which translate into market advantage for the partner, and conservation and fundraising benefit for WWF
• Negotiate terms of agreement and secure support for WWF’s conservation work in Bulgaria;
• Cultivate and nurture existing relationships and ensure adequate account management to current corporate donors;
• Identify new revenue-generating opportunities within existing accounts by encouraging partners to take on additional engagement opportunities;
• Maintain and continuously update a record of interactions (correspondence, proposals, agreements, reports) with existing and potential partners, including all public and media information (annual reports, press releases, published articles, awards, etc.) that can help steward the relationship to further growth;
• Encourage companies to initiate or continue market transformation (change of consumption and practices, responsible business, etc.);
• Implement business and industries engagement tools (e.g. scorecards, rankings, etc.);
• Conforms to the Internal Regulations and procedures of WWF DCP Bulgaria.
We expect from you:
• University degree in economics, sales, marketing, management, business, finance or related fields;
• At least 5 years of professional experience in sales, marketing, advertising, project management, account management;
• Professional experience in fundraising, networking, contacts with donors, development and maintenance of strategic partnerships, project/program management, etc. would be considered an advantage;
• Excellent networker, with good organizational and interpersonal skills, with ability to function in a multi-cultural environment;
• Proactive, with a can-do attitude;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in Bulgarian and English
• Able to work well within a national and larger international team, as well as independently
• Dedication to WWF’s mission and environmental protection.
