Position Title: Coordinator

Location: Sliven

Employment Type: full time

Organization: Za Nadejda Foundation

Za Nadejda Foundation was created in Sliven in 2023, around the segregated “Nadejda” district, where around 10,000 people live, more than half of them in extreme poverty. The Foundation's mission is to combat the segregation of social groups (ethnic minorities, people living in poverty, women, children...) and to raise public awareness of the causes and consequences of segregation and exclusion. To this end, we organize a variety of events, campaigns and research, as well as activities aimed at the most vulnerable: children, young people and women.

Our main areas of work are:
  • Psychosocial support for children and young people in precarious situations - recreational and educational activities, cultural visits, cinema, festivals, etc.
  • Support for families and children who are victims of violence - provision of lawyers, strategic legal support.
  • Combating homelessness by animating a small community of mostly street-involved women. The aim is to empower these women, with a view to setting up a resource center in Sofia.
  • Advocacy for systemic change - we are members of the National Children's Network and their legal aid network, and together with other local and national associations we co-organize actions to combat precariousness, notably on October 17.
