we've empowered more than 950 young people across Europe through:
- Non-formal education
- Erasmus+ and ESC mobility projects
- Community-based learning
We’re an accredited
Erasmus+ and ESC organization (2021–2027), and a small and effective team with a
clear strategy and strong methodology.
Your Day-to-Day Impact
As a Youth
Worker, you’ll play a key role in bringing our projects to life. You'll wear
many hats—from mentoring and facilitation to logistics and communication.
Work with Volunteers
- Coordinate ESC volunteers: onboarding, task assignment, and progress tracking
- Design meaningful tasks based on volunteer skills and interests
- Lead regular team check-ins and support sessions
Coordinate Projects & Plan
Ahead
- Track timelines, upcoming activities, and deadlines
- Develop action plans and coordinate with team members
- Support local and international trainings, events, and youth exchanges
Paperwork & Partner
Communication
- Prepare forms, participant lists, evaluations, and feedback tools
- Liaise with partners via email or meetings
- Represent Smokinya in Plovdiv, Mrachevik, and across the EU
Boost Visibility & Engagement
- Capture moments: take photos, write posts, and support social media
- Contribute to visual materials: info packs, presentations, and web updates
Community Connection
- Maintain contact with local stakeholders: schools, cultural centres (читалища), and residents
- Help set up spaces for events and workshops
Field & Admin Support
- Assist with logistics, materials, and transportation
- Support general admin tasks: printing, editing, organizing
Keep Things Flowing
- Monitor team calendars and task boards
- Keep track of goals and milestones
- Share feedback and actively contribute to team learning
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Social Work, Education, Youth Studies—or equivalent experience
- 2 years working with youth (NGOs, schools, or informal education)
- ESC/Erasmus+ experience is a plus
- Grant writing experience is a huge plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A growth mindset—open to coaching and improvement
- Familiarity with digital tools (Google Suite, Slack, Canva, AI, etc.)
- Fluency in Bulgarian and English (spoken and written)
