National Tourism Cluster "Bulgarian Guide" (NTC BG) is seeking a Rural Landscape & Heritage Expert to support the implementation of projects and initiatives related to rural development, cultural heritage, landscape identity and sustainable territorial development.

The position is part-time (appr. 2 hours/working day) under a fixed-term employment contract.

Main responsibilities

The Rural Landscape and Heritage Expert will:
  • participate in the implementation of activities related to rural landscapes, cultural heritage and sustainable territorial development;
  • support the collection, processing and analysis of information concerning the built environment, settlement identity and landscape characteristics;
  • participate in field visits, site documentation and other activities related to the employer's initiatives;
  • contribute to the preparation of analyses, reports, guidelines, methodologies and other relevant outputs;
  • collaborate in the preparation of communication and dissemination materials related to rural landscapes and cultural heritage;
  • participate in the planning, organisation and implementation of meetings, workshops, public events and other activities;
  • maintain communication and cooperation with municipalities, professional organisations, universities, experts and other relevant stakeholders;
  • support the preparation of technical reports and other documentation related to the implementation of the employer's activities;
  • perform other activities assigned by the employer within the scope of the position.

    Requirements

    Applicants should possess:
    • Master's degree in Architecture or another relevant field related to architecture, landscape planning, urban planning, heritage conservation or spatial planning;
    • professional experience in architecture, spatial planning, urban design, heritage conservation or equivalent disciplines;
    • knowledge of Bulgarian legislation concerning spatial planning, cultural heritage and the built environment;
    • excellent analytical and report-writing skills;
    • ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams;
    • excellent command of written and spoken English.

    Additional advantages

    Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following:
    • rural development;
    • cultural and architectural heritage;
    • landscape planning;
    • preparation of professional studies, analyses or guidelines;
    • GIS, mapping or spatial analysis.
