The English Language Café and Multi Kulti Collective invite you to the next edition of our weekly idea-exchange series: “Norouz Magic - Traditions and Tales”, as we celebrate Norouz, the Persian New Year - a vibrant holiday marking the first day of spring and the renewal of life. Deeply rooted in Iranian culture, Norouz is more than just a new year celebration; it’s a time for hope, family gatherings, and age-old rituals passed down through generations.

Together, we’ll explore the symbolism of the Haft-Seen table, the fiery excitement of Chaharshanbe Suri (the Fire Festival), and the poetic spirit that shapes the way Iranians welcome the new year. It’s an evening of stories, language, and shared experiences - a chance to connect through culture.

Who is our guest speaker?

The event will be hosted by Mahsa Nouraei - an English language teacher, researcher, and cultural enthusiast. Mahsa is a PhD candidate in Comparative Contemporary Literary Studies at Sofia University and holds a Master's and Bachelor's degrees in English Literature and Philology. She is passionate about poetry, creative writing, and organizing cultural events that highlight shared traditions and build bridges between cultures, people and their stories.

Following Mahsa’s presentation, we will enjoy signature alcohol-free beverages prepared by the ELC’s expert bartender, Hristo, and continue the evening with engaging small-group conversations as part of our idea exchange.
