Recruitment to the Individual Development Grants Program 2 by School for Leaders Association

 

School for Leaders Association is searching for candidates to participate in the second round of CEE Trust Individual Development Grants Program. As part of the program 10 leaders of 7 European countries (Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary) will be given individual development grants ranging from 2 up to 4 thousand USD each. The project is financed by the CEE Trust.

The chosen form of individual development may take any shape as long as it is demonstrated that it fulfils the following conditions:

  • it serves the personal development of the grant receiver and, in the further perspective, the development of his/her leadership activity;
  • it will result in the introduction of a distinct change with regard to the scope or the profile of the grant receiver's previous activity.

The awarded grants have to be spent and accounted for by the end of December 2012. The realization of the subsidized projects will be supervised by the project coordinator. As a summary there will be held a conference in Warsaw to allow the participants to share their experiences and knowledge.

Project description

The project targets at individuals with leadership capabilities, who have worked as social leaders for at least two years and reside in one of the seven states the project is addressed to. The individuals to take part in the project are those who are undergoing changes or are at the turning point of their activity, who are planning to redefine the mission of their organization, or to change the direction of their career; and to achieve that they require financial support. We will seek candidates in all walks of life especially among leaders of public life involved in all sorts of social activities ranging from nongovernmental organizations, through state and local government administration to privately-owned entities

The grants may be devoted to finance all sorts of activities, depending on the needs, e.g.:

  • a conference trip,
  • participation in a series of trainings,
  • cover of the costs of participation in the expert group meetings,
  • study visit/internship in an organization pursuing a specific objective,
  • collecting data relevant to the running of a project,
  • subsidies to build up an organization when a new action is undertaken or cover of the costs related with a change of the existing organization's profile,
  • to enable substantive preparation for a planned alteration to the activity scope or a leader,
  • replenishment of the collection of the library with regard to the planned direction of development.

Recruitment process

The grants will be provided on the basis of letters of intent (no longer than 3000 signs) that have to include:

  • description of how to increase nominee's leadership capacity, how to change the area of activity or extend its scope;
  • brief description of former and on-going activities;
  • the key results expected from the project;
  • a rough cost estimate;
  • timeline of the project.

Letters of intent can be sent to magda.mazur@szkola-liderow.pl till the 19th February, 2012.

The selected grant receivers will be informed about the decision of the recruitment commission not later than the 27th of February, 2011

Form of grant

The form of a awarded grant will depend on applicable laws of a given country. The chosen form of grant must be indicated in the letter of intent, the grant donor does not take any responsibility for the costs related to the chosen form of transferring the grant, nor for the costs related with any fluctuation in dollar exchange rate.
